Bettering the Lives of Children

HD Supply is working to better the lives of children by providing increased access to quality education and health service because we believe the foundation of wellbeing is laid in early childhood, and investing in children can yield positive benefits to individuals as well as communities.

Education Initiatives

At HD Supply, we believe education is a critically important investment; it helps reduce poverty, boosts economic growth and increases an individual’s ability to lead a healthy life. We support the education of children in the local communities in which we live and work by investing time and monetary resources in organizations and programs that strive to foster educational excellence. For example, HD Supply is partnering with Junior Achievement and Action Ministries to provide educational opportunities to children.

Eliminating hunger in the classroom improves attendance and supports educational development. In 2017, HD Supply associates in Atlanta, Georgia, volunteered at Action Ministries to support their Smart Kid Program. The program is designed to provide local children with snacks and lunches as well as books to support educational development. The team made 40 hand-decorated sack lunches and delivered them to deserving kids in a nearby neighborhood.

The Human Resources Team in Atlanta worked with Action Ministries' Smart Lunch, Smart Kid Program to feed children in their local community.

Health Initiatives

Investing in children’s health can improve cognitive ability, emotional development, and school participation. HD Supply has a company-wide partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support health programs through financial donations and participation in local events. We also contribute to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Ronald McDonald House.

Across our business, HD Supply associates participated in 19 St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer events in 2017. Additionally, our Construction & Industrial business in Denver held its second annual Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament.
