Supporting and training our people is an important priority for HD Supply. Our specialized product solutions are designed to take our customers through the complete construction lifecycle, from design to construction to lifetime maintenance and improvement. This translates into professional opportunities for our people across a broad range of diverse career paths.
We provide on-the-job training and formal courses to support the development of our associates. Formal training programs are available through HD Supply’s online learning center. We offer general training courses as part of company employment, as well as more customized learning opportunities that are specific to an employee’s business unit, job function, and development needs. At HD Supply, we support a company culture that encourages associates to both teach and to learn from one another to ensure that our body of knowledge, skills, and expertise are unmatched in our industry.
HD Supply takes pride in our employees’ success and professional development. We offer a series of leadership development programs, including a new manager onboarding program for newly hired or promoted managers, foundations of management curriculum, and targeted leadership programs based on business priorities.
Employee performance feedback conversations are driven by personal performance acceleration, an ongoing process of coaching that keeps employee performance and development goals on track to recognize, and ultimately to reward, exceptional results. This process includes periodic check-in meetings between managers and associates, including year-end performance reviews.
HD Supply is committed to fielding the very best associates as we seek to grow and profit in the markets we serve. We are focused on hiring the right people for the right jobs and cultivating successful leaders across our organization. HD Supply works to provide opportunities to students and recently graduated students in order to promote a healthy talent pipeline. In addition to internship opportunities, HD Supply also offers a career development program that allows new or near graduates to gain diverse experiences in their chosen field.
Our career development program is designed to provide training and learning experiences to recent graduates through targeted training, phased rotations through various jobs, exposure to senior leadership and regular coaching for maximized performance. Successful program completion results in an initial placement in a full-time position, such as supply chain management, branch or distribution center operations, outside sales, transportation, or counter or inside sales.
